We use the BREEAM model to enable building owners, users and designers to review and improve the environmental performance of a building throughout its existence.
BRE have introduced the new BREEAM In-Use (BIU) for existing buildings to reduce their running costs and improve their environmental impact. This is a self assessment method which is simple and straightforward to complete by the building owner. It is in three parts and covers the building, the operational policies and the way the building is used by the occupiers. The building owners assessment is then audited by a qualified BREEAM auditor and the rating certificate (for acceptable, pass, good, very good, excellent or outstanding) is awarded.
